TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's basketball team has little time to rest as it plays at Central Washington Tuesday, Dec. 18, before returning to Memorial Fieldhouse Thursday, Dec. 20, to host Benedictine (Ill.).

The Loggers topped visiting Concordia-Chicago, 89-83, Monday night in Memorial Fieldhouse. Freshman Cal Hansen recorded his first-career double-double (15 points, 16 rebounds), and the Loggers fended off the Cougars' comeback bid by shooting 10-for-12 from the free-throw line in the final minute of the game.
Cal can board
Cal Hansen is the Northwest Conference's third-leading rebounder with 8.8 rebounds per game. He had a season-high 17 rebounds at George Fox (Dec. 1), and pulled down 16 rebounds against Concordia-Chicago (Dec. 17).
Wohrer the leader
After leading the Northwest Conference in scoring last year, Jimmy Wohrer is the conference's top scorer so far this season. His averaging a league-best 21.2 points per game.
A bit of everything
Stellan Roberts consistently contributes in multiple facets of the game. He ranks 12th in the NWC in scoring (15.7), sixth in assists (4.2), and eighth in rebounds (6.6).
Scouting Central Washington (5-4, 0-2 GNAC)
The NCAA Division-II Wildcats lost consecutive Great Northwest Athletic Conference games before winning their most recent contest against Douglas College, 100-64 (Dec. 12). Central Washington is averaging 90.3 points per game, and holding opponents to 80.4 points. The Wildcats are shooting 49.0 percent from the floor, but they're losing the rebound margin by 3.3 rebounds per game. Five players average double-digits in scoring, led by Jeryn Lucas' 13.6 points per game.
Scouting Benedictine (4-5, 3-3 NACC)
The NCAA Division-III team out of the Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference has won three of its last four games, including an 85-65 win over Concordia-Chicago. Benedictine averages 70.2 points per game, and allows nearly the same (69.2). The team is shooting just 41.9 percent from the floor, and struggling from 3-point range (30.1 percent). Eric Grygo is the team's leading scorer and rebounder, with averages of 15.2 points and 10.7 rebounds.
