WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Four different Loggers scored in the second half as the Puget Sound men's soccer team finished a quick road trip with a 4-0 win at Whitman. Connor LaFerriere had a four-point day with the game-winning goal and two assists.
LaFerriere gave the Loggers (4-3, 3-1 NWC) an initial lead with a goal in the 59th minute on an assist from Peter Russell. He also earned assists on the Loggers third and fourth goals. Ryan Rash headed home the Loggers third goal and Geoffrey Cleveland put the Loggers fourth goal over the top of the keeper after LaFerriere played it into the box.
Carson Swope scored the Loggers second goal in the 69th minute on an assist from Rash.
Chris McDonald earned his third shutout of the season with three saves in the match. Leland Matthaeus led the Missionaries (2-3-2, 2-2 NWC) with two shots, including one on goal. The Loggers outshot the Missionaries 18-10 in the match.
The Loggers return home next week for a pair of 2:30 p.m. matches against Pacific on Saturday and George Fox on Sunday.
