TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team came out ready to win on Friday against Wheaton (Ill.), and Ezra Kraus delivered in a 2-1 victory. Kraus's first of two goals came in the eight minute of play. His shot soared beautifully into the upper-right corner to give the Loggers a 1-0 lead.
The Loggers defended their 1-0 advantage into halftime.
In the 65th minute of play, Kraus stole the ball in front of Wheaton's goal, made a quick dribble by the goalie, and tapped the ball acrros the goal line.
The Thunder broke through with a goal in the 88th minute, but Puget Sound fended off a furious late attack to seal its first win of the season.
Puget Sound remains at home to take on Texas-Tyler, Saturday, Sept. 9, at 4:30pm.
