TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team overcame an early deficit to beat Texas-Tyler, 2-1, on East Field Saturday afternoon.
The Patriots (1-1-2) struck first with a goal in the 11th minute, but Puget Sound (2-1) evened the score in the 25th minute. Vincent Von Luehrte buried a shot from near the top of the 18-yard box into the top right corner for his first goal of the season.
The score remained tied going into halftime, but the red-hot Ezra Kraus provided the game-winner after a deflected shot by Dane Schatz landed on Krau's foot. The senior drilled his third goal in the last two games.
Wren Norwood needed just one save to earn a win for the second consecutive game.
The Loggers head to Oregon to take on Willamette on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 12:00pm.
