Four Loggers score in first NWC win of the season

McMINNVILLE, Oregon – Four different Loggers scored as the Puget Sound men's soccer team earned its first Northwest Conference win of the season with a 4-1 triumph over Linfield on Sunday afternoon.

The Wildcats (2-4, 0-2) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first minute of play, but the Loggers' (3-2, 1-1 NWC) defense prevented Linfield from putting another shot on goal through the next 89 minutes.

Luke Murdock provided the equalizer in the 29th minute, when he tapped in a cross from Ezra Kraus. The game-winning goal was provided by Vincent Von Luehrte just two minutes into the second half. His second goal this weekend headed home off a pass from Benjamin Whitham.

Dane Schatz scored of an assits from Chet Selis in the 51st minute, and Patrick Selner scored from 20 yards out in the 76th minute.

Puget Sound looks to keep rolling when it hosts Whitman on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 12 p.m.
