McMINNVILLE, Ore.—The Puget Sound men's tennis squad won its third match of the season Friday afternoon, beating Linfield 6-3 to sweep the season with the Wildcats at Linfield Tennis Center in McMinnville, Ore.
The Loggers took two of the three doubles matches to begin the dual with Daniel Deuel and Colton Wright winning at No. 3 doubles 8-3. Myles Rivera-Flam and Abe Noyes also won their doubles match, winning by an 8-6 margin at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, four Loggers came out on top. Jake Peterson was the big winner in individual play, winning 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.
Both Rivera-Flam and Deuel also tallied two-set victories as Rivera-Flam won 6-4, 7-5 over Kelsey Rosborough at No. 2 doubles. Deuel once again topped the singles lineup, winning his No. 1 singles matchup with Micah Roos 7-6(7-5), 6-4.
John Stevens tallied the sixth point for the Loggers, beating Tim Hawkins 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.
Puget Sound (3-9, 2-6 NWC) plays its final road match of the season next, traveling the short distance to Parkland, Wash., for a cross-town rivalry with Pacific Lutheran. That match will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11.
