TACOMA, Wash.—The Puget Sound softball team's season-opening doubleheader against Northwest set for Sunday, Feb. 16, has been cancelled due to a wet playing surface.
The Loggers were all set to kick off their 2014 season Sunday, but the many bands of rain that have fallen today and are supposed to fall tonight have made the Logger Softball Field unplayable. No make up date is set as of now.
Puget Sound will now jump straight into Northwest Conference action, hosting George Fox in the new season opener Saturday, Feb. 22 at 12:00 p.m. They will play at home the first two weekends of the season, hosting Pacific on Sunday, Feb. 23 and hosting Lewis & Clark March 1-2.
