SoCal start to season

The Loggers began the season in southern California, Feb. 3-4, when it played two games at both Occidental and Marymount California. Puget Sound won the first game at Occidental, 9-4, and the second game was suspended in a 7-7 tie due to darkness. The Loggers dropped two one-run games against the Mariners, 6-5 and 8-7.

Yard work

After hitting three home runs in 2017, senior Haley Gray belted her first home run of the 2018 season in the second game at Occidental. Last weekend Gray totaled four RBI and reached base five times in seven at-bats.

Get it, Gott it, good

Senior sisters Erica Gott and Jessica Gott raked on the road last weekend. Each Gott collected six hits between the four games – Erica Gott hit 6-for-16 and Jessica Gott hit 6-for-15. Half of Erica Gott's hits were doubles.

Freshman duo

Freshman Lia Nakamota and Camille Goo both played well in their first weekend of collegiate softball. Nakamota went 3-for-7 with two doubles, and Goo hit 3-for-6 with a pair of walks.

Scouting Northwest

This weekend marks the first games of the season for the Cascade Collegiate Conference member. Last year, the Eagles posted a 13-30 record.
