Goo adds to team-lead in RBI, but Loggers lose at Pacific

FOREST GROVE, OregonJessica Gott was sharp in the circle and Camille Goo added to her team-lead in RBI, but the Puget Sound softball team lost at Pacific, 3-1, Saturday afternoon. The second game of the doubleheader is postponed. 

Gott allowed just two earned runs through six innings, and she struck out six.

The Loggers (6-15, 4-8 NWC) scored in the top of the first inning, but the Boxers (13-8, 8-6 NWC) scored runs in the second, fourth, and fifth inning.

Amber Popovich was hit by a pitch with one out in the top of the first, and Gott singled to put Popovich in scoring position. Goo delivered an RBI single to left field, giving the Loggers an early 1-0 lead.

Goo, a freshman, leads the Loggers with 12 RBI.

Puget Sound and Pacific are scheduled for a doubleheader Sunday, March 25, at 12 p.m.
