Softball's home series against Willamette begins Sunday

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound softball team returns to its familiar confines when it hosts Willamette for four games. The first doubleheader is Sunday, April 8, starting at 12 p.m. The series concludes with a doubleheader Monday, April 9, starting at 1 p.m.

Not your average Pearl

Freshman Mackensie Pearlstein continues to leading the Loggers in hitting, as she enters the weekend with a .317 batting average.


By any means

Although Amber Popovich is hitting a respectable .270, she has been doing an excellent job of getting on base. Popovich's .413 on-base percentage leads Puget Sound.


Gott to have a power bat

Erica Gott leads Puget Sound in several power numbers, including home runs (3), RBI (18), and slugging percentage (.511).


Nearly a historic win

Puget Sound narrowly lost to No. 11 George Fox, 2-1, March 30. Kaitlyn Webster hit her first home run of the year, and Jessica Gott allowed just two earned runs during a complete game in the circle.


Scouting Willamette (5-20, 5-13 NWC)

The Bearcats enter this weekend with nine losses in their last 11 contests. Willamette is tied for second in the NWC for home runs (7), but its pitching staff has the worst ERA in the league (6.24). Jocelyn Glasgo is hitting a team-high .413, and she leads the squad with 14 RBI.
