Softball celebrates six seniors Saturday

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound softball team celebrates its Class of 2018 this Saturday, when the Loggers play host to Pacific Lutheran for a doubleheader that starts at 12 p.m. Due to anticipated rainy weather, the games will be played on a turf field at Auburn Mountainview High School.

Senior sendoff

The Loggers celebrate six seniors and their loved ones tomorrow: Amanda Fehr, Erica Gott, Jessica Gott, Haley Gray, Amber Popovich, and Kasey Stern.


Extra, extra

Senior Erica Gott ranks in the top 10 in the Northwest Conference for extra-base hits. She has 14 extre-base hits, which is tied for ninth in the NWC. Gott leads the Loggers in home runs (3) and doubles (11).


Walk this way

Senior Amber Popovich leads the Loggers in on-base percentage (.410) and walks (12). She is also tied with Mackensie Pearlstein for the team-lead in runs scored (14).


Senior circle

Seniors Erica Gott, Jessica Gott, and Kasey Stern have combined to throw 193.6 innings for the Loggers, which accounts for 96 percent of the team's innings.


Scouting Pacific Lutheran (12-22, 7-17 NWC)

The Lutes have alternated wins and losses in their last five games, and split four games against George Fox last weekend. PLU pitchers have surrendered the second-most hits (282) in the NWC. Kennedy Robillard has a team-high .450 batting average, including 13 doubles, and Anna Overland leads PLU in RBI with 22.
