Logger softball returns to NWC games at home against Pios

TACOMA, Washington – Following a break last weekend, the Puget Sound softball team returns to Logger Field to host Lewis & Clark, March 30-31, for a four-game Northwest Conference series.

Young leaders                                      

A quartet of first-year Loggers enter the weekend as the team's top hitters. Hana DeGuzman leads Puget Sound with a .306 batting average, and Maddie Colombo closely follows with a .305 clip. Kelsie Sullivan is hitting .296, and Abbi Wong ranks fourth on the team with a .268 batting average.

During the Loggers' most recent doubleheader, Maddy Garcia and Kelsie Sullivan both pitched complete games while allowing only two runs each at Northwest (March 20).

 

Extra bases

Abbi Wong's seven extra-base hits leads Puget Sound. She has a home run and six doubles to her credit.

 

Scouting Lewis & Clark (7-14, 3-9 NWC)

The Pioneers enter this weekend with two wins in their last three games. During that stretch, Lewis & Clark outscored the opposition, 25-12. Emily Drevdahl ranks second in the NWC with a .460 batting average. Olivia Brackin is tied for the NWC-high in home runs (7), and Reheanne Lewis is tied for tops in the NWC in stolen bases (14).
