TACOMA, Washington – One week after earning its first two Northwest Conference wins of the season, the Puget Sound softball team welcomes George Fox to Logger field for a four-game conference series, April 6-7.

Split with the Pios

The Loggers beat Lewis & Clark twice at home last Saturday (10-1; 8-6). However, Lewis & Clark made adjustments the following day to final the last two games of the weekend series (9-0; 4-1).

Bron-dos

Abby Brondos homered twice against Lewis Clark, March 30. She hit a two-run homer in each of Puget Sound's wins against the Pioneers.

 

Experiential learning

Freshman pitcher Kelsie Sullivan has a throwing a team-high 69.1 innings, which is a mark that ranks sixth in the NWC. She is also the team's second leading hitter with a .318 batting average.

 

Leading off

Freshman Hana DeGuzman has been batting leadoff for most of the season for Puget Sound, and she's taking advantage of the opportunity. DeGuzman leads the Loggers in hitting (.329), steals (5), and triples (2).

 

Scouting George Fox (15-11, 7-8 NWC)

The Bruins split four games at home against Pacific last week (March 30-31). Roni Braun and Savannah Vargas are tied for the second-most home runs in the NWC with eight, each. The Bruins rank second in the conference for slugging percentage (.549), and the team's 5.01 ERA is fifth in the NWC.
