Logger Duo Conclude Action At NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Facing the top swimmers in NCAA Division III, senior Jackson Kowalski (Keizer, Ore./McNary) and freshman Tracy Wormwood (Elk River, Minn.) brought season to an end on Saturday at the NCAA DIII Swimming and Diving Championships at University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

Kowalski swam his last collegiate race in the prelims of the 200yd backstroke, finishing with a time of 1:52.95 to take 29th.  The senior finished his career as a three-time All-American, earning both first team and honorable mention honors as a junior, as well as honorable mention honors this week in the 100yd backstroke.

In the final preliminary heat of the women’s 200yd breaststroke, Wormwood posted a time of 2:23.75 to earn the first alternate designation for the evening’s finals.  While she didn’t get a chance to win in the consolation final, she has now had a taste of the national championship meet and will look to return in 2011.
