Loggers swim past Lewis & Clark

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's swimming teams bested Lewis & Clark on Saturday afternoon.


The men's squad beat the Pioneers, 109-82, and the women came out on top, 125-77.

Melisa Kegans won two races on the day for the Logger women. She finished first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:35.82 and the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:38.38. After winning the 400 and 800 freestyle yesterday, Nick Mitchell finished first for the Logger men in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:01.10. The men also swept the 50 freestyle with Ivan Chen besting his teammates with a time of 26.67.

 Both Puget Sound squads finished the meet by winning the 400 freestyle relay, as the women's side (Kegans, Alex Koga, Lauren Kochanowski, Melissa Norrish) finished in 4:19.01, and the men's side (Clayton Jacobson, Evan Hamamoto, Matt Goldberg, David Olson) timed in at 3:48.92.

The Loggers travel to swim against Willamette on Nov. 14 at 6pm.
