TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound swim teams picked up another win to remain unbeaten in Northwest Conference action as both the men's and women's teams defeated Linfield on Saturday afternoon.
The men's team beat the Wildcats, 122-77, and the women's team topped them, 125-80.
The Loggers opened the meet by winning both the men's and women's 400 medley relay. For the men, Mitch Kilgore, Jarik Bainco, Jared Fisk and Clayton Jacobson finished first with a time of 3:45.89. The women's team of Alex Koga, Ally Hembree, Melisa Kegans, and Lauren Kochanowski touched the wall first in 4:16.15.
Melissa Norrish came away with a trio of first-place finishes for the Logger women. She won the 1,000 freestyle (10:51.86), 500 freestyle (5:18.47) and 200 IM (2:15.79). In addition to being a member of the winning relay, Kegans also finished first in two individual events for the Loggers. She won the 200 freestyle (2:01.08) and the 100 freestyle (55.35).
Nick Mitchell picked up three first-place finishes for the Logger men, including the 1,000 freestyle (10:13.98), 500 freestyle (4:56.83) and 200 freestyle (1:48.17). Kilgore placed first in two individual events for the Loggers after being a member of the winning relay. He took first in the 100 freestyle (48.98) and 50 freestyle (22.35).
Both Logger teams improve to 4-1 on the year and 4-0 in the NWC.
Puget Sound returns home next weekend to host Southwest Oregon Community College on Friday, Nov. 21 at 6pm.
