Loggers shine against Cal Lutheran

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound swim team returned to action and picked up another win as both the men's and women's sides defeated Cal Lutheran on Tuesday afternoon.  


The men's team defeated Cal Lutheran 689-572, and the women's team beat the Regals, 723-347.

The Logger women opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley relay. Auri Clark, Sam Anders, Ally Hembree and Melisa Kegans combined to swim a 4:15.10, besting CLU by 15 seconds.

Clark, Anders, and Hembree also all finished first in their individual 50-yard stroke races. Clark in the butterfly (27.57), Anders in the backstroke (31.03) and Hembree in the breaststroke (34.29).

Melissa Norrish came away with a trio of first-place finishes for the Logger women. She won the 150 freestyle (1:28.72), 250 freestyle (2:34.43), and 100 individual medley (1:04.17).  

On the men's side, Mitch Kilgore finished first in the 50 freestyle (22.13) and Keven Henley finished in second place in the same race (22.72). Henley also picked up a first place finish in the 50 backstroke (27.02).

Both Logger teams improve to 5-1 on the year and remain 4-0 in the Northwest Conference.

Puget Sound returns home to host Simon Fraser on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 1pm.
