SPOKANE, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's swim teams fell to Whitworth on Friday evening.
Nick Mitchell won the 1650-yard freestyle (16:39.66), finished third in the 500 freestyle (4:49.71), and was a member of the second place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:30.59). Keven Henley placed third in the 100 butterfly (56.33), and was a member of the second place 200 freestyle relay. Ian Conery finished second in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.80). The Logger men fell 154-51 to the Pirates.
On the women's side, the Loggers' 200-yard medley relay team of Sam Anders, Anne Shirey, Auri Clark, and Grace Lawson earned a victory with a time of 1:53.73. The 200-yard freestyle relay team also finished in first place (1:43.65). Lawson won the 50 freestyle (25.13). Clark finished first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.75) and placed second in the 400-yard IM (4:53.73). Melissa Kegans finished second in the 100 freestyle (56.09). The Puget Sound women fell 125-80.
Both Puget Sound teams next compete against Whitman on Jan. 23.
