Women third, men fourth at NWC Sprints

PORTLAND, Oregon – The University of Puget Sound women's and men's swim teams competed at the Northwest Conference Sprint Invitational on Friday. The women's team finished third, with108.17 points, while the men finished in fourth, with 116 points. Calista Skog (seventh) and Sylas Cole (fifth) finished in the top ten for the Loggers.

Team Standings I Individual Standings

For the men, Cole placed fifth with an overall time of 2:38.91. He finished the 100 individual medley in 55.87, the 50 butterfly in 24.33, the 50 backstroke in 26.62, the 50 breaststroke in 29.51, and the 50 freestyle in 22.58. Mitch Kilgore placed 14th with an overall time of 2:43.99, while Dylan Reimers (2:45.21) finished 17th.

On the women's side, Skog was seventh overall, with a time of 3:00.44. She finished the 100 individual medley in 1:01.37, the 50 butterfly in 28.12, the 50 backstroke in 31.00, the 50 breaststroke in 33.95, and the 50 freestyle in 26.00. Kelli Callahan placed 14th (3:04.43), and Anne Shirey (3:07.19) finished 22nd.

Pacific Lutheran won the sprints on both the men's and women's side.

The Loggers will swim again Saturday, when they participate in the NWC Relays at Pacific.
