Men's and women's swim teams take down Pacific

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's and women's swim teams defeated Pacific on Saturday afternoon. The men won by a score of 120-82, while the women won, 118-87.


On the women's side, Carmen Mena won the 1000-yard freestyle (11:32.13) as well as the 500 freestyle (5:36.93). Calista Skog won the 50-yard freestyle (25.47), while Loggers Kayla DiMicco and Megan Sanders finished second and third respectively. Austin Stiver finished first in the 200 breaststroke. The Puget Sound women's 400-yard freestyle relay team, made up of Erin Jenkins, Kayli Brown, Sanders, and Skog, won the event in 3:51.76.

For the men, the Puget Sound 400-yard medley relay team of Dylan Reimers, Ian Conery, Justin Sansano, and Cody Doge won the event (3:44.10). Reimers (10:10.07) and Jaycob Davies (10:35.11) finished first and second in the 1000-yard freestyle. Nick Mitchell won the 200 freestyle (1:47.81), while Connor King won the 200 backstroke (2:03.30). Caleb Von Boven placed first in the 200-yard backstroke (2:20.26). The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Mitchell, David Olson, Reimers, and Davies, finished first to wrap up the meet.

The Loggers are now 2-0 in both men's and women's Northwest Conference dual meets. The teams will next travel to Linfield to take swim against the Wildcats on November 11, at 6 p.m.
