Men's swimmers take down Wildcats, women fall

MCMINNVILLE, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's swim team defeated Linfield, while the women fell on Friday evening. The men won by a score of 110-95, while the women fell, 122-83.


For the Logger men, Nick Mitchell won the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:11.36. Dylan Reimers (1:49.60) and Jaycob Davies (1:49.72) finished first and second in the 200-yard freestyle. Connor King won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:05.78, while Jonah Rogers, David Olson, and Evan Lebakken finished second through fourth for Puget Sound in the same event. Reimers (4:51.93), Mitchell, and Davies took the top three spots in the 500-yard freestyle. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Mitch Kilgore, Reimers, Cody Dodge, and Davies finished first (3:21.63).

On the women's side, Carmen Mena finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:26.68). The Logger 400-yard freestyle relay team of Calista Skog, Megan Sanders, Kai Haven, and Kayla DiMicco placed first (3:48.48), while the Puget Sound team of Maddie Kriz, Roxie Trissel, Genevieve Cagigas, and Meno finished second (4:02.49).

The Loggers will next travel to Willamette to take swim against the Bearcats on November 12, at 1 p.m.
