SPOKANE, Wash. – Myles McDonald sits in 11th after the first day of competition in the NWC Multi Event Championship in Spokane, Wash. McDonalds best mark of the day came he tied for eighth in the high jump.
Joe Cerne also started the competition but was forced to withdraw after the fourth event due to an injury.
McDonald has tallied 2568 points through the first five events of the decathlon. In the long jump, he recorded a personal-best of 5 feet, 4.5 inches to tie for eighth. He also placed ninth in the shot put with a toss of 30 feet, 1.75 inches.
The event concludes tomorrow with the hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1500m on tap.
David Dillow of George Fox currently holds a slim lead with 3433 points. Evin Colignon of Willamette is just nine points behind in second place.
