Loggers with standout performances at UW Indoor Open

SEATTLE, WashingtonSteven Branham came away with a first-place finish and several other Puget Sound track & field member performed at a high level at the UW Indoor Open on Sunday.


Branham cleared 1.85 meters to tie for the first place in the "Flight 1" men's high jump.

A trio of Logger men placed in the top 10 out of 27 runners in the Section 3 3,000-meter run. David Santillan (8:55.34) finished fifth, Justin Higa (9:00.30) placed eighth, and Sam Carilli (9:00.76) ninth.

On the women's side, Taili Ni placed third in the third section of the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:40.72. Allanah Whitehall finished the 60-meter in 7.89 seconds, good for the eighth-fastest time among 50 runners.

Shelby Kantner placed fourth in triple jump at 10.65 meters.

The Loggers are off the next three weeks before competing at home on March 7 for an outdoor quad meet.
