SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Meghan Hamel recorded her first double-double of the season, and Jamie Lange notched her fifth consecutive double-double as the Puget Sound women's basketball team beat Schreiner, 77-48, during the final day of the Trinity Women's Basketball Christmas Classic Thursday afternoon.
Hamel netted 13 points and added 10 rebounds, while Lange scored 21 points to go along with 12 rebounds and seven blocks for the Loggers (6-5). Lange leads the Northwest Conference in both points per game (17.3), rebounds per game (13.0), and ranks second in blocks per game (2.2). She had seven double-doubles this season. Hamel's 6.6 rebounds per game rank eighth in the NWC.
Elizabeth Prewitt scored 15 points against Schreiner (2-7), marking her sixth double-digit scoring game of the season.
The Loggers dominated on the glass by outrebounding Schreiner, 59-26. Puget Sound also held its opponent to 22.7 percent shooting from the floor.
Puget Sound returns to action with the new calendar year, and resumes its NWC schedule at George Fox on Jan. 5.
