Loggers in 2015

Puget Sound finished 2015 with a 10-4 record, good for second place in the Northwest Conference. After beginning the season with two losses, the Loggers would go on to win 10 out of their next 11 games. The team scored 176 goals and attempted 457 shots. They gathered 337 ground balls and caused 105 turnovers.

Who's who

Junior Elena Becker returns to anchor a defense that allowed just 8.5 goals per game last season. She was named to the All-NWC First Team in 2015. All-NWC Second Team members Callie Holgate and Hailey Shoemaker also return for the Loggers. Eight freshmen are on the roster for Puget Sound, who will use a combination of fresh faces and experienced upperclassmen to challenge for the Northwest Conference crown.

Scouting the Pirates (1-0)

Southwestern University is located in Georgetown, Texas, and the team competes in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Pirates finished 2015 with a 7-9 overall record, falling in the final two games of the year. The Loggers defeated Southwestern, 10-9, on March 20, 2015. The Pirates are 1-0 this season, beating Dallas 16-0 last weekend. They will play Whitman on Saturday before meeting Puget Sound.
