Lacrosse drops game to Athenas

CLAREMONT, California – The University of Puget Sound lacrosse team began their southern California road trip with a 20-0 loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Thursday evening.

CMS (5-2) took control from the opening draw, scoring the first goal just 22 seconds into the game. The Athenas led 16-0 at halftime, and added four goals in the second period. Three Athenas scored three goals. Megan Bacher recorded the lone shot for the Loggers (1-6).

Goalkeeper Leah Stromberg (1-6) made three saves. Ali Walker picked up three ground balls for Puget Sound. Gracie Phillips and Anna Stenson each caused two turnovers.   

Puget Sound will next travel to Whittier on Saturday, March 19. The game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
