Women's soccer comes up short in overtime

TACOMA, Washington – For the second time in as many games, the Puget Sound women's soccer team lost a 1-0 contest in extra time.

The Loggers (0-3) hosted Calvin for Puget Sound's first home game of the year, but the Knights netted the golden goal less than four minutes into overtime. Puget Sound previously lost at No. 12 Trinity (Tex.), 1-0, in double overtime (Sept. 2).

Calvin held a narrow edge in total shots, 9-7, and the Loggers attempted just three corner kicks to the Knights' seven.

Puget Sound goalie Jamie Lange made seven saves, giving her 33 stops through the season's first three games.

The Loggers remain at home to take on Mary Hardin-Baylor Saturday, Sept. 8, at 5 p.m. on East Field.
