FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Lura Morton scored the game-winning goal in the 109th minute to give the Puget Sound women's soccer team a 2-1 win at Pacific Friday night.
It was Puget Sound's (4-4-1, 3-1-1 NWC) fourth overtime game of the season, but the Loggers' first win in extra time.
Morton buried her team-leading third goal of the season off an assist over the top from Tayla MacPherson.
After a scoreless first half, Gabbie Berg's second goal of the season gave the Loggers' a 1-0 lead over Pacific (1-8, 1-4 NWC) in the 56th minute. MacPherson also assisted on the score. Ten minutes later, the Boxers evened the score, but the Loggers prevailed with less than two minutes left in regulation.
