Roath scores twice, Tome gets shutout in 3-0 win

WHEATON, Illinois – Kylee Roath scored twice and Gabbie Berg netted a goal to push the Puget Sound women's soccer team to a 3-0 win against Hanover Saturday. Wheaton hosted the neutral-site match.

Freshman goalkeeper Chaylea Tome made six saves for her first-career shutout. Three of saves came in the final 22 minutes of regulation, when Hanover turned up its offensive pressure.

Roath, the 2018 Northwet Conference Freshman of the Year, scored her first goal of the season with a header from close range in the 14th minute.

Just four minutes later, Berg scored her first goal of the season off an assist from, Radhika Webster Schultz. Berg led the NWC in scoring last year.

The Loggers held a 2-0 lead at the break, but Roath added another scored in the 61st minute. CeAnn Romanaggi, who ranked second in the NWC for assists in 2018, assisted on Roath's second goal.

The Loggers host their first home game of 2019 against Northwest Saturday, Sept. 7, at 1 p.m.
