Monaghan wins NWC title; Lindauer and Schaffer All-NWC

ESTACADA, Oregon – Colin Monaghan is the 2018 Northwest Conference Men's Cross Country Champion, while John Lindauer and Samantha Schaffer earned All-NWC Second Team during the NWC Championships at McIver State Park hosted by Lewis & Clark Saturday.


Monaghan, a freshman, crossed the finish line in 25:39.1. He placed 0.3 seconds ahead of the next runner.  Through his first five collegiate races, Monaghan has not finished behind an NCAA D-III opponent.

Jack Lindauer placed eighth overall with a time of 26:30.4 to earn the conference nod. The Logger men placed fourth as a team, while Pacific Lutheran won the NWC title.

Schaffer, the 2017 NWC Women's Freshman of the Year, was 10th overall by timing in at 23:53.1. Audrey White was the next best runner for the Loggers, as she finished 22nd with a time of 24:44.3. 

The Logger women finished fifth as a team, while Willamette claimed the conference crown.
