Loggers to race in 2nd Annual Viking Rust Buster

TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound cross country teams are ready to compete in Portland as the Loggers race in the Viking Rust Buster hosted by Portland State Saturday, Sept. 7.

Monaghan's still money

Colin Monaghan won the first race of the season – the Puget Sound Invitational – and was subsequently named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week. Click HERE to learn more.

 

Speedy Sam

Samantha Schaffer placed second overall in the Puget Sound Premiere women's race, crossing the finish line in 24:37.75. The junior is a two-time All-NWC honoree.

 

Top 10

Basil Engledow and Rachael Metzler finished among the top 10 of the men's and women's Puget Sound Premiere, respectively. Engledow was ninth overall with a time of 28:07.19, and Metzler was seventh overall with a time of 25:22.56.

 

Looking ahead

Following a break from competition, the Loggers will race in the Pacific Lutheran Invitational in Parkland, Washington, Sept. 21.
