Puget Sound runners go against D-I competitors

PORTAND, Oregon – In fields that were a mix of NCAA D-I and NCAA D-III runners, the Puget Sound men's and women's cross country teams performed well in the Viking Rust Buster hosted by Portland State Saturday.

Colin Monaghan paced the Logger men by finishing fourth out of 57 runners. He crossed the 6k finish line in 18:28.2. 

Cody DeWitt was the next Logger to finish, timing in at 5:32.8, good for 41st overall.

In the women's 4k, Rachael Metzler led the Loggers by placing 46th out of 83 runners. Metzler's time was 15:42.9.

Samantha Schaffer closely followed in 51st place, crossing the line in 15:57.8

The Puget Sound teams next compete in the Pacific Lutheran Invitational, Sept. 21.
