TACOMA, Washington – It's almost becoming a weekly occurrence in the fall. Puget Sound men's cross country runner Colin Monaghan was named the Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Viking Rust Buster, Sept. 7.
For Monaghan, it marks his second NWC honor is as many weeks this season. He has been named the NWC Student-Athlete of the Week six times in his young Puget Sound career.
Monaghan placed fourth (18:28.2) out of 57 runners in the Portland State 6k event Saturday. The only NCAA attached runner to beat Monaghan in the race is from NCAA D-I Portland.
The Puget Sound men's and women's cross country teams take a week off from competing before the Pacific Lutheran Invitational, Sept. 21.
