University of Puget Sound

Grizz enters another season as the heartbeat of Logger school spirit. A performer on the sidelines, Grizz is known for a playful, energetic and gritty approach to game days, commanding the crowd with a combination of Pacific Northwest toughness and a sassy attitude. 

Grizz's roots stretch all the way back to the early 1900's, when Puget Sound's sports teams briefly competed under the "Grizzlies" before officially adopting the Loggers name. To honor the history, the Associated Students of the University of Puget Sound (ASUPS) brought Grizz to life, unveiling the bear at halftime of the Homecoming game in 2005.
