Shannon Percell

Shannon Percell is in her first year as Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations at the University of Puget Sound, where she primarily oversees student-athlete programming, SAAC advising, NCAA compliance, and business management.

Prior to Puget Sound, Percell served as the Director of Athletics and Recreation at Green River College beginning in 2018. Under her leadership, the Gators captured multiple conference championships, produced numerous All-American student-athletes, and won the NWAC Men’s Basketball Championship in 2023–24. Her accomplishments earned her recognition as a 2024–25 NACDA Junior/Community College Athletics Director of the Year, as well as the NWAC Dutch Triebwasser Outstanding Administrator of the Year award in 2022–23.

A former NCAA Division I student-athlete, Percell played collegiate soccer at the University of Montana, where she earned a B.A. in Psychology in 2001. She helped lead the Grizzlies to three Big Sky Conference titles and two NCAA Tournament appearances. Individually, she was a four-time All-Big Sky First Team selection, a Freshman All-America Third Team honoree, and earned NSCAA All-West Team recognition in both 1999 and 2000.

Following her playing career, Percell transitioned into coaching, leading Sonoma Academy to consecutive North Coast Section titles. She also held assistant coaching roles at Sonoma State, the University of Idaho, Seattle University, and her alma mater, Montana. In 2012, she shifted into athletic administration at Sonoma State, advancing from Business Operations Specialist to Associate Athletics Director and Interim Director of Athletics, while also serving as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator.

Percell earned her Master’s in Sport Administration and Leadership from Seattle University in 2009.

A Tacoma, Washington native, she now resides in Sumner with her husband, Shawn, and their three sons Owen, Duncan, and Parker, their dog Toby and cat Mittens.
