Pete Van Sant

Pete Van Sant begins his fourth year as an assistant goal keeping coach with the University of Puget Sound.  Van Sant graduated from the University in 2008 with a BS in Exercise Science and joined the staff in 2010.

Van Sant started his Junior and Senior years and helped the team win the NWC Championship in 2006. Over his two seasons as a starter Van Sant set a school record for Lowest Goals Against Average in a Career (0.47) and tied the school record for most Shutouts in a Season (13).  In 2006 season, Van Sant registered the 11th highest Solo Shutout Percentage in Division III history and finished his career with the 8th lowest Goals Against Average in Division III history.  Individual awards he earned over his two seasons as a starter included All Conference, All Region and All American.

Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, Van Sant now lives in North Tacoma where he works as a Nuclear Medicine Tech at an out-patient Cardiac Clinic.
