Liana Halstead

A native of the Northwest, Liana Halstead was named the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year following the ninth season as the head coach of the Loggers in 2015. She led Puget Sound to its second-highest win total with a 10-4 record, and the Loggers placed a conference-best eight All-NWC selections.

Halstead graduated from University of Redlands in 2005 following a successful playing career. She came to Puget Sound as an assistant coach in 2006 and took over the program the following year in 2007.

In her second year as head coach, Halstead led the Loggers to their first-ever winning season with a 10-3 record. In 2010, the Loggers set a program-best with 11 wins and an 11-2 record.

While at Redlands, Halstead played both attack and defense. She holds a BA in Education from Redlands and a Masters in Education from Puget Sound. Besides her duties as head coach, Halstead teaches at a local elementary school. She is married to head baseball coach Jeff Halstead and they have one daughter, Tatum (4).
