Brian Billings

Brian Billings, entering his tenth year as headbaseball coach, is an alumnus of Puget Sound and former Loggerbaseball player.  After transferring to Puget Sound from theUniversity of Redlands in the fall of 1996, Billings was athree-year letterman and team captain in 1998 and 1999. Playing mostly first base and catcher, Billings was theNorthwest Conference RBI leader and team MVP in 1998 and is in thetop-10 for several single season and career records at Puget Sound. 

Coach Billings graduated from Puget Sound in1999 with a degree in Physical Education.  Following hissenior season, he became the head coach at Pierce College andcoached the Raiders in 2000 and 2001. After two years at PierceCollege, Billings worked as an instructor and coach at theWilkinson Baseball Academy working with high school and collegeplayers on baseball and life skills.  

In May 2002, Coach Billings accepted the headcoaching position at Puget Sound.  In 2008, Billings waspromoted to an administrative position and now serves as theAthletic Facilities Coordinator.  He has also coachedextensively in the summers for the Tacoma Stags and most recentlythe Seattle Studs Baseball Club (2004-2008). 

Billings and the Studs had tremendous successduring his five summers, with a combined win-loss record of 197Wins – 74 Losses – 1 Tie.  The Studs won fivestraight Pacific International League titles and made 5 trips tothe NBC World Series in Wichita, Kan.  In his final season asthe hitting coach, the Studs lost the National Championship game tothe Santa Barbara Foresters, finishing second in the nationaltournament in 2008.
