NEWBERG, Ore. – The Puget Sound volleyball team overcame a
slow start to win its third straight match. The Loggers (9-4, 4-1)
defeated the host, George Fox, 3-1 (12-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-15) to
keep their winning streak alive.
Three Loggers hit double digits in kills to key the victory.
Natalie Monro led
the Loggers with 14 kills while
Brynn Blickenstaff
added 12 kills and
Jordan Bird added 10 more
kills. Blickenstaff led the squad with a .407 hitting
percentage.
After a slow start in the first set, the Loggers quickly came
to life to even the match at 1-1. The Loggers kept rolling into the
third set with a 25-22 win and put away the match with a convincing
25-15 win in the fourth set.
Erika Greene
contributed 41 assists in the match while
Juliette Witous added 23
digs to lead the Loggers in that department. Greene recorded the
double-double with 10 digs in addition to her 41 assists.
The Loggers continued to dominate at the net with 10 team
blocks to the Bruins four.
Molly Gibson and Bird
recorded 2.5 blocks a piece to lead the Loggers.
The Loggers will conclude their four-match road trip at Lewis
& Clark tomorrow at 7 p.m.
