TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's soccer team won
its sixth consecutive contest on Saturday with a 1-0 win over
Whitman. Kelly
Andersen scored the lone goal in the match to boost the Loggers
(11-1-1, 8-1) to victory.
Andersen's goal came in the opening minute of the second half

was turned away by Whitman's keeper, Lauren Brougham. The save
bounced directly to Andersen who pushed in for a 1-0 Logger
lead.
Brougham made four saves to keep the match close but the
Missionaries (5-8, 3-7) couldn't find the equalizer. The Loggers
outshot the Missionaries 14-5 in the match, including a 5-2
advantage in shots on goal.
Casey Thayer
made a save in the first half and Jess Yarbrough made a save in the
second to combine for the shutout.
The Loggers will meet Whitworth tomorrow on East Field at noon
in a matchup of the top two teams in the NWC.
