Box Score

TACOMA, Wash. – The University of Puget Sound men's basketball team battled to tie game at halftime but came up just short in a 73-64 loss to Lewis & Clark. The Loggers (6-11, 3-5 NWC) won the battle on the boards but a late Pioneers' (14-3, 7-1 NWC) helped them pull away for the victory.

After going into the locker room tied at 29-29, the Pios and Loggers battled through three ties and three lead changes in the second half. The Pios made a late run to pull away and eventually come away with the victory.

"I'm very happy with how much better we've gotten," said head coach Justin Lunt. "But we're not going to settle with this 'we're a young team' so we'll get it going. We still have eight games left."

Kaleb Shelton led the Loggers with 16 points and Anthony Gittens dominated on the glass with 13 rebounds and seven points. The Loggers won the rebounding battle for the second consecutive game 41-34.

Kelly Edwards scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half while PJ Taylor added 19 points in the game to lead the Pios.

The Loggers will head south to face Pacifc on Friday and Willamette on Saturday. They have posted a 3-1 record at home in NWC games but will be seeking their first NWC road win.
