Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. – The Puget Sound volleyball team saw its three-match winning streak snapped on Friday in a 25-17, 25-22, 25-23 loss at Lewis & Clark. The Pioneers (9-10, 5-4 NWC) scored the upset over the No. 19 Loggers (14-3, 6-3 NWC) by hitting .248 in the contest and holding the Loggers to .130.
Brynn Blickenstaff led the Loggers with nine kills in the match while Jaime Ecklund and Jackie Harvey each tallied seven kills. Erika Greene dished out 26 assists and had eight digs.
However, the hot-hitting Pios were led by Margaret Dowling with 13 kills and Kataleya Milan with 11 kills. Dowling was had 11 digs and Milan added 13 digs as five Pios tallied double digit digs.
After the Pios sprinted out to a 25-17 win in the first set. The two teams were never separated by more than four points through the second and third sets. Both sets were tied at 23-23 before the Pios scored the final two points to take each set and eventually the match.
The Loggers road trip continues tomorrow when they travel to Linfield for 7 p.m. match with the Wildcats.
