Loggers Sweep George Fox To Win 14th Straight Home Match

Box Score

TACOMA, Wash. – Jackie Harvey had 11 kills to lead the Puget Sound volleyball team to 25-23, 25-23, 25-20 sweep of George Fox on Friday at Memorial Fieldhouse. The Loggers (13-2, 5-2 NWC) hit .257 as a team after hitting over-.300 in each of the final two sets.

The Loggers received eight kills from Brynn blickenstaff to add to Harvey's 11. Blickenstaff also led the quad with a .400 hitting percentage, totaling eight kills and no errors on 20 attempts.

The Loggers blocking game also played a huge role in limiting George Fox to .155 hitting. They tallied nine team blocks, including four block assists from Jaime Ecklund and Nicolette Reynaud.

"We knew George Fox would have a big hitting team and we would need to adjust our blocking from a timing perspective," commented head coach Mark Massey. "They served the ball well and we made an adjustment in the third set that certainly helped."

Stephanie Kerr led the Bruins with 13 kills and a .478 hitting percentage.

The Loggers improved to 7-0 at home on the year and will go for their eighth home win tomorrow when they host Willamette at 7 p.m.

"It is really uplifting to look across and see our student crowd and all the energy coming out of the stands," added Massey.
