Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound women's soccer team made it six consecutive wins with a 3-0 win over Lewis & Clark on Sunday. Three different Loggers (9-2, 7-1 NWC) scored in the win.
Jenny Moore put the Loggers on the board in the 11th minute with a goal. Abby Goss earned the assist. In the 42nd minute, two freshmen hooked up to give the Loggers a 2-0 lead. Annie Jonsson found Robin Vieira for an open shot and Vieira buried it, giving the Loggers the 2-0 lead at half.
Kara Merfeld played the first half in goal for the Loggers and made one save as the Loggers had a 5-2 shot advantage. Casey Thayer took over in the second half and made thee saves as the Pios (2-8-2, 1-6-1 NWC) fired five shots to the Loggers 10.
Mikaela Freeman further padded the Loggers lead in the 51st minute when she scored off of a Christine Isabella assist.
Geena Fong played the final 45 minutes for the Pios and made six saves. Elise Delgado made two stops in the first half for eight total saves from the Pios.
The Loggers return home next week to host Whitman on Saturday and Whitworth on Sunday. Both matches begin at noon.
