Box Score TACOMA, Wash. – For the second time in less than a week the Puget Sound men's basketball team defeated Portland Bible College. However, this time around was a lopsided 93-58 win for the Loggers (3-0).
Every active Logger saw playing time and 15 Loggers recorded at least two points in the rout. Gabe Borboa put up 14 points and 10 rebounds for his first double-double of the season to lead the Loggers. Julian Fernandez and Nick Holden each contributed 12 points.
The Loggers used their obvious size advantage to dominate the game down low. The Loggers outscored the Wildcats 46-14 in the paint while holding a 38-1 advantage in second-chance opportunities.
After the Wildcats got off to a hot start, the Loggers found themselves in a 13-5 hole with just over 13 minutes left in the first half. However, the Loggers woke up and outscored the Wildcats 31-14 the rest of the half.
Juston Coleman scored a game-high 17 points and Theo Overstreet added 15 points to lead the Wildcats.
After three games at home to open the year, the Loggers will be on the road until Jan. 6 when they host Whitman at 8 p.m. Next week, they head across town to play Evergreen State on Friday and No. 21 UW-River Falls on Saturday.
