Linfield Crashes Loggers Home Finale

Box Score

TACOMA, Wash. – The University of Puget Sound women's basketball was upset 57-46 on Friday night by visiting Linfield. Kelsey McKinnis led the Loggers (18-5, 11-3 NWC) with 14 points.

The Loggers could not find a rhythm offensively as they shot just 27 percent in the game and trailed by as many as 20 points midway through the second half. The Loggers found a bit of a rhythm to end the game as they narrowed the gap to 11 points, but it was too late to complete a comeback.

NWC scoring leader Gretchen Owens posted a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Wildcats (11-10, 6-7 NWC) to the upset victory.

The Loggers face a tough road trip next week as they visit Lewis & Clark and George Fox to end the regular season. They can finish first to third in the NWC standings based on next weekend's results.
