Box Score

PORTLAND, Ore. – Kaleb Shelton had a game-high 26 points, but the University of Puget Sound men's basketball fell 89-85 to Lewis & Clark in overtime. The Loggers (9-15, 6-9 NWC) led by as many as five points in the overtime period but the Pioneers (18-6, 11-4 NWC) ended the game on a 9-0 run to take the win.

The Loggers turned a two-point halftime into a 13-point lead with 9:47 remaining in the second half. However, the Pios were able to erase the lead with 2:27 left and took a 77-76 lead on a layup by PJ Taylor.

A free throw by Kelly Edward put the Pios up 78-76 with 46 seconds left, but Shelton knotted the game up at 78-78 with a putback off his own miss inside 30 seconds. Shelton's basket ended up putting the Loggers in overtime.

Malcolm Colbert hit a pair of quick layups and Shelton knocked down a three for the last of his 26 points to put the Loggers up 85-80 in the first minute of the extra period.

Taylor responded by scoring the last nine points of the game to give him 21 in the contest and lead the Pios over the Loggers.

The Loggers will wrap up the season tomorrow when they face George Fox at 8 p.m.
