Loggers Roll To Sweep Of Lewis & Clark

TACOMA, Wash. – The Puget Sound volleyball team rebounded from Wednesday's loss with a 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 win over visiting Lewis & Clark on Saturday. Jenni Brehove had 36 assists in the sweep and Jackie Harvey pounded down 13 kills.

The 10th-ranked Loggers (12-4, 6-2 NWC) came out hot and finished even hotter. They hit .279 in the first set as a team and had .310 in the clinching third set.

Harvey had six of her match-high 13 kills in the third set alone while taking just nine swings to lead the Logger attack. Harvey also had 12 digs for another double-double.

The Logger block also came out on fire as the Pios never hit over .100 in any of the three sets. The Loggers recorded five blocks in the match with Kristin Best having one solo block and three block assists.

Lewis & Clark was led by 11 kills from Kateleya Milan. The Pioneers found a groove to start off the second set and built an early 9-3 lead. However the Loggers made a similar run to tie the match at 13-13 and control the rest of the set.

The Loggers head east next weekend with matches at Whitman and Whitworth as they start they second round through NWC play.
