WALLA WALLA, Wash. – The Puget Sound volleyball team overcame a slow start to defeat Whitman 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-19 on the road. Nicolette Reynaud tallied 10 kills and hit .304  to help the Loggers (10-5, 3-1 NWC) to the win.

The Missionaries (5-14, 3-3 NWC) took the first set behind .286 hitting while also limiting the Loggers to .108 hitting in the set. However, the Loggers came roaring back in second set, duplicating the .286 hitting percentage that was against them in the first set. 

The Loggers hit just .043 in the third set with match tied at 1-1 but limited the hosts to a negative hitting percentage to gain their first advantage in the match. In the fourth set, the Loggers pounded down 17 kills on 43 swings to secure the set and the match.

Marissa Florant had a double-double with 13 kills and a team-high 23 digs on the night while also hitting .237. Jackie Harvey added another double-double with 11 kills and 19 digs. Christina Chun had 17 digs while Karly Edwards put up 15 digs. Jenni Brehove dished out 50 assists over the four sets and had two of the Loggers' three aces. 

Jillian Davis led the host Missionaries with 17 kills and 15 digs. Shae Kanakaole added 11 kills and 24 digs.

The Loggers improved to 5-1 in conference play and won their third consecutive match. They return home next week to host Willamette at 7 p.m. on Friday.
