Box Score MCMINNVILLE, Ore. – The back of the net continued to be an elusive result for the Puget Sound women's soccer team that fell 1-0 at Linfield on Saturday. The Loggers (2-2-1, 0-1-1 NWC) outshot the Wildcats (6-0-0, 2-0-0 NWC) 7-4 but were turned away all three times they put a shot on goal.
Casey Thayer played the first half in goal and made one save. Linfield's Molly McCool was able to sneak the match's lone goal past Thayer with a strike to the far post in the 28th minute.
The Loggers allowed just two shots in each period but that was all the Wildcats needed as they held the Loggers scoreless on the other end. Lauren Thomas saved the only shot Linfield fired at her in the second half but Kallina Haase made two of her three saves in the opposite goal to earn the shutout.
Alex Teesdale had a pair of shot that were both on frame for the Loggers.
The Loggers head south again next week for another pair of Northwest Conference matches, starting with a noon contest at George Fox next Saturday.
